Judith Garcia was born, in Germany, but has called Canada home, since the age of two.
Judith was an apprentice for The Alberta Ballet Company at 17 years of age in 1979. Judith has sung in the Edmonton Opera chorus for numerous Operas. She has been acting for 30 years on the stage in many musicals and dramas.  Judith has been teaching, choreographing and performing and

producing full scale productions since 1999.

Judith continues to explore new and innovative ways to bring her love of the arts to her audiences. She has appeared in Film and on television.   She has studied  and performed in Spain , Madrid and Sanluca De Baramadas, New York, Morocco, and Canada, Germany.  Her Costume designs have been on display at Fashion Week in Edmonton with her Flamenco Dance costumes on the runway, at the Edmonton City Hall. Judith's art work has sold to private art collectors.  She has won 26 metals at the

World Championships of Performing Arts in Hollywood in July 2008.

She has just completed two fundraisers for Haiti relief in conjunction with other performers with the help of St. Patrick's Parishes in Clyde and Edmonton.

Judith and her amazing husband Flamenco Guitarist and Band Director extraordinary, Oscar-Jose Garcia continue to thrill audiences with their Flamenco productions and Band Concerts in Westlock and Edmonton. Volunteering their time, energy and talent, to give back to the community as often as they are asked.
They have taught countless students over the years and continue to do so today because of their love for the arts.

Flamenco En Vivo

Is unique, in the way that, for many years Oscar-Jose and Judith Garcia, gave their students the opportunity to perform in a professional Flamenco Show, along side, well seasoned dancers, after only one year of classes. The dancers were given extra classes at no charge in order to prepare for the choreographic element.

The students were permitted to show their first year level of dancing in a two to three hour production. In a large theater, with some times up to 17 costume changes, the dancers learned to cope. Normally, this kind of experience was not given to first, second or even third year students, of other schools,  until they have proven themselves as graceful  and totally capable of handling any obstacle. Judith's Dancers did!

They were well prepared and performed brilliantly!

Flamenco En Vivo

Judith Garcia hired photographers, video- graphers, lighting and sound technicians,  rented the theater. She then, created the light settings for each individual piece in the show.  She hired the professional dancers, designed and created the costumes for all of their productions.

Judith then, Created a well flowing program for the audience, made posters to advertise the event. Placed the information on TV, radio, newspapers and posters that were  strategically placed all over Edmonton and area. The shows were a sell out and very well received by everyone who attended them.

Audiences cheered as dancers embraced the standing ovations!

Dancers went off to join other professional Flamenco Dance Companies. Teach, or continue studying the Art form.

Judith and Oscar-Jose continue to study and teach the Art of Flamenco in both Dance, Guitar, and singing. They fly to Spain as often as they can to meet with the masters and continue to bring back the new information for their new crop of Dancers.

Each year brings a new and wonderful experience for both the students and the teachers. 

In 1999, Oscar-Jose and Judith Garcia needed to branch out to as many people who saw them perform who asked them, "where do you teach"? They realized that many people wanted the experience of performing on the stage, in costume, and looking good doing it.

Judith and Oscar-Jose were able to teach students and housewives from a non- dancing background and raise their level to a high standard of artistic performance that was very well received by thousands of people that walked through the Hawrelak Park in Edmonton for the annual Heritage Days Festival.

Performances: The troupe performed 13 show in 3 days, sometimes in the rain, or in the scorching heat. Even when the dancers were sick they still danced! The love of Flamenco was now in their blood and nothing could remove it from their souls!

The life long struggle of perfecting the Art, just as with any Art form, requires total dedication, sacrifice and commitment.

Flamenco En Vivo has grown into a wonderful troupe of dancers, musicians, singers, artists, that have dedicated themselves to the art and passion of Flamenco. They continue to learn as much as they can from the very best that the world has to offer.
